Golf Notes or 40 Years On The Lesson Tee Copyright (C) 1994 - 2009 by Larry Miller - All Rights Reserved Introduction During my forty years of teaching golf and club making, I have occasionally thought that I must have seen all the good and bad things a golfer can do with a club in their hands. I was, and am, always wrong. Golfers continue to surprise me. There are, however, certain issues that seem to present consistent problems for most golfers. Having proved that I can help reduce (and sometimes cure) these problems on the lesson tee lead to the desire to put something in my student's hands to help them review some of the most important parts of golf on their own, when I was not there to personally assist them. "Golf Notes" is a collection of teaching experiences condensed from that background and of articles written for the amateur golfer. The articles were originally printed in various newspapers and magazines and were well recieved by the golf community because they were clear, simple and addressed problems experienced by the majority of amateur golfers. With the goal of providing assistance to the amateur golfer, these selected articles will help in sorting through the bewildering and sometimes confusing information currently flooding the market, describe how and when to approach a variety of shots and illustrate how simple and fun this wondeful game can and should be. Difficulty with shot execution can nearly always be traced back to a problem in the grip, stance or setup; the basics. When professional Tour golfers take lessons they are working on these same basics; trying to eliminate the errors that creep into their approach to shot execution. If Greg Norman believes that the basics are important enough to spend days under instruction trying to relocate his thumb position a fraction of an inch then amateur golfers can believe that constant reference to the basics will improve their shot making, consistency and level of enjoyment. Golf is really a simple game. I encourage you to read "Golf Notes" with simplicity in mind. Above all, remember that golf is a GAME. Relax, enjoy the game and have fun.
